Learning to sew can at times be overwhelming, so many new skills and new techniques to try and master. Let’s come together and have fun learning to sew cute little zippered pouches. I think introducing new sewists to zippers early, often helps them see how easy it is to take sewing straight lines and turn their new skills into possibilities.

There are no prerequisites to take this class, just show up, learn and have fun!

You will learn how to:

• Thread our classroom sewing machine
• Sew straight lines and follow a seam allowance
• Use a zipper foot 
• Learn about zippers and types of zippers
• Follow a basic bag pattern

You will need: 

• 4 Fat Quarters -each bag has an exterior and a lining-
• 2 zippers somewhere between 8”-10” (Do not use metal teeth zippers)
• ALTERNATIVELY you can use zipper tape, you’ll need at least 20” and 2 zipper pulls 
• Matching thread (or choose a contrasting colour for easier visualization)

We will provide: 

• All the necessary sewing tools
• Use of a sewing machine during class
• A written copy of the class instructions
